I sat carving this image with what I first thought were forgotten souls. Referencing only black and white pictures from the past, I got to see the men that tunnelled these mines. The faces that I looked into asked,” Don’t forget us. We are some one.” We carved our way deep down into these tunnels in search of riches. There are so many questions for these miners, and those will remain a mystery. Although, these are silent mines, they are not forgotten in my mind or in this mining antler carving, Silent Minds.
