Something's Not Right (Sheep Horn)

This one of a kind is unique from my other work. To date this is the only sheep horn I've carved. Because I had a deadline for this piece and a request for a specific scene, I was forced to use my imagination in the limited area offered by the horn. To complicate matters, I found the horn quite thin near the base that proposed for careful planning.

I was requested to carve a grizzly bear stalking a Dall sheep. As I carved, I thought of the moment of surprise when a grizzly makes it's presence known just before it charges. The bear used the rock face for concealment. Silently he stalked the ewe and her lamb. The ewe's sixth sense was telling her 'Something's Not Right' and should prepared herself and her lamb to allude the imminent feeling of danger. Our bear had to find his meal elsewhere since he failed in making a meal out of one of these sheep
