Freedom of Flight IV
In
May of 1996, I completed this rendering of a bald eagle entitled Freedom
of Flight IV. Over six hundred hours of applying .18 mm dots
by hand was invested into the 32"x 40" original, some
of which was videotaped. The 200 signed limited edition prints
are 25" x 32" and are available by contacting
the artist. The image is also available on an art card
(#014) at $2.00 ea. You can purchase the art card by ordering
online.
For interest, I slowed my application
of dots so I could take an accurate count of what four sections
of the eagle consisted of. I did this by applying fifty dots, and
then began a stick count. The nostril has 300 dots and the pupil
of the eyes has 1,400. On your right hand side, the third feather
up on the wing, has 22,830 dots and on the left side, the third
large feather down on the wing has 24,450.
